Hi all,
I was wondering if any of you have used a talking pedometer. I'd like to get one so that I'll know my distance, calories burned, etc, when I exercise, but I've never used one before, so I'm not sure which brands are the better ones to buy. If anyone has used one before, I'd love to hear your comments. Thanks.

I bought mine from maxiaids for like 7 bucks. it tells the # of steps distance in miles time walked and calories burned. its a very simple interface. I find it to be most accurate if I clip it on the belt loop of my pants just to the right of where they button.

I bought mine from the RNIB. I haven't used it for a while. But I will start again.

I have a sportline safety 343 pedometer. It's pretty accurate as far as a talking pedometer ggoes. I've tried pedometers from ILA and maxiaids too, but they are really bad with their accuracy. they start off ok, but after a couple of weeks maybe, they're way off on calculating distance and steps taken. The only thing they're good for is the talking clock/alarm feature. I've had my sportline for about 6 weeks and so far so good. It's maintained it's performance and accuracy and you can set things like weight, step length, alarm etc. Much more than the cheapy models from the ones from the stores mentioned above. There are of course pedometers that are much more accurate over all and have a whole bunch of other features, but so far, this is the best talking one I've come across.

I bought it on EBay for around $20 shipping included.

Thanks. I saw a few on Sears' website, but I'm still decideing which one to buy. The ones that I'm interested in are the Sportline Talking Safety Alarm Pedometer, the Walking Advantage Talking Calorie Counter Pedometer, and the Sportline 343. I just don't know which one to choose!
